Enigma2 receivers and Vu+ satellite boxes are popular among IPTV enthusiasts who want a proper set-top box experience. Setting up IPTV on these devices is more technical than on Android or iOS but delivers an excellent result — your IPTV channels appear in the native Enigma2 channel bouquet alongside your satellite channels. This guide covers the full process.
What You Need
- An Enigma2-based receiver (Vu+, Dream, Formuler or similar)
- A Windows PC on the same network as your receiver
- PuTTY — a free SSH client for Windows
- Your IPTV Nords Enigma script from your welcome email
- Your receiver's IP address (found in Menu → Setup → System → Network)
Step 1 — Install PuTTY on Your PC
PuTTY is the tool you use to connect to your Enigma2 receiver from your PC via SSH or Telnet and run the installation script.
- On your PC open the Microsoft Store
- Search for PuTTY
- Install it and open it once installation completes
Step 2 — Connect to Your Receiver
- In PuTTY enter your receiver's IP address in the Host Name field
- Set connection type to Telnet or SSH (try Telnet first, most receivers accept this)
- Click Open
- When prompted for a username type root and press Enter
- Leave the password field blank and press Enter (most standard images have no root password)
Password required? Some firmware images like OpenHDF require a password. The default varies by image — search online for your specific firmware's default root password.
Step 3 — Run the IPTV Nords Script
Once connected to your receiver via PuTTY you should see a command prompt. Now run the installation script:
- Open your IPTV Nords welcome email and copy the Enigma script — it is a long command starting with "wget" or "curl"
- Right-click in the PuTTY window to paste the command (PuTTY pastes on right-click by default)
- Press Enter to execute
- Wait 5–30 seconds for the installation to complete — you will see a completion message in the terminal
Step 4 — Find Your Channels
After the script completes your IPTV channels are installed as a new bouquet in the Enigma2 channel list:
- On your receiver remote press the Menu button
- Navigate to your channel list
- Press the Blue button to access bouquet selection
- Select Favourites
- You will find the IPTV Nords bouquet — all your channels are here
Updating Your Channel List
When new channels are added to IPTV Nords your Enigma2 bouquet does not update automatically. To get the latest channel list simply run the script again from PuTTY — it overwrites the existing bouquet with the updated version. This typically takes under a minute.
Troubleshooting Enigma2 Setup
- PuTTY cannot connect — check your receiver's IP address in Network settings and make sure both devices are on the same network
- Script fails with an error — make sure you copied the entire script from the email with no line breaks or missing characters
- Channels appear but do not play — your subscription may not be linked to Enigma2 access. Contact support to activate it
- Bouquet not appearing — restart your receiver after running the script and check Favourites again
